I competed in various sports growing up. At New Plymouth Girls' High School, I enjoyed cycling, netball, volleyball, triathlon, athletics, cross country, adventure racing, and squash. My passion for sport had the unfortunate consequence of stretching myself too thin which resulted in low ferritin causing excessive fatigue. It wasn’t until my final year of high school that I started getting on top of this issue, and I narrowed my focus to adventure racing and running.

In 2012 I moved to Hamilton to attend the Waikato Institute of Technology. My track times started to improve and I got offered a scholarship to attend Northern Arizona University. I graduated from WINTEC with my Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science.

In 2016 I moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, and started a new journey as a student-athlete in the United States. I had an amazing experience on the NAU team where I was a part of multiple Big Sky Conference team titles and learned a lot about coaching, which set me up for when I began coaching myself. I graduated from NAU with a masters degree in human relations and a masters degree in bilingual education.

I stayed in Flagstaff after college and in 2020 gave birth to my son Miles. After his birth, I took the time to prepare my body for running again. That has allowed me to run personal bests at almost every distance and I feel stronger now than ever before. At the end of 2024 I moved back to New Plymouth, New Zealand.
